Decarbonising a major infrastructure project is the key activity of this Carbon Specialist, rather than part of the infrastructure build process, working on stratergy and theory, here the Carbon Specialist working at the Client, will be able to scrutinise the construction and manufacting plans of Tier 1 suppliers and the whole supply chain, reviewing the lifecycle assessments of the works, holding the supply chain to account and sharing best practice.

The project is huge, enormous even, so you will your knowledge to share best practice, and decide where to look, explore and challenge practices.

The journey to net zero, is a critcal goal for this infrastracture owner, and you will have teeth in your role.  Ideally though, you will work with the Carbon Managers at third party organisations accross the vast supply chain, working together to ensure plans to reduce carbon are carried out.  Due to the timescales involved technology and techniques will improve and evolve, so the ability to undertanke change managemet is critcial.

Knowledge of PAS 2080, Carbon managemet, Whole Life Carbon Assessment, Value Chain integration is helpful.  FIEMA acreditation is great.

This is learning and development role, the client will educate you further in your carbon management knowledge, the skills and leasons learnt on this project at a decision making and influence leading position will hopefully be obvious.

For a passionate Carbon Specialisit your input will clearly have an impact for generations
