A growing EPCM with a very large influx of work form the Life science sector.

My client is looking for a Piping Designer looking to make the next permanent step into a management role across Life science and the nuclear sector leading in the Process Discipline team. Life science is essential, Nuclear is desirable.

This is a new staff role as Piping Team Leader – they will be involved in leading the piping capability on projects, bids, management of sub-contractors, developing the processes and systems in piping.

This person will manage all the piping designers, contract or staff, and any subcontractors we may use to deliver packages of work.

Will need to be able to obtain SC clearance – due to the nature of the clients this person will work with, we regrettably cannot accept dual nationals

Will work on projects in the Life Science and Nuclear sectors

We would consider permanent staff looking to work part time (for example a 3- or 4-day week – salary will be pre-rated accordingly in this case)

Non- Negotiable Experience & Killer questions

* Must have experience in Life Science

* Ability to attain SC clearance (no criminal background)

* Proven track record of delivering Piping and Layout Design within challenging engineering projects (Killer question)

* Ability to demonstrate experience in Plant 3D.

* Experience in Design Coordination and Clash Detection, discipline liaison and guidance.

* Understanding and knowledge of piping specifications and design codes

* Appreciation of layout requirements for hygienic pipework (food / pharma sector)

Desirable:

* Experience of fee estimation for piping projects

* Experience of recruitment and line management

* Ability to demonstrate previous experience in E3D/PDMS.

* Team Size – as this is a growing capability within the Process discipline, team size fluctuates depending on staff or contractor and project requirements

* Potentially up to 40 people/ direct reports and will form part of the wider Process team which is + 85 made up of staff and contract, of various levels of experience
