Class Teacher -Experience working with SEN

The Role

Tempest is working with a Special School for students aged 11-19 with Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties. Many of the students have Autism, and some have behaviours that may challenge. All students have an EHCP.

Class groups at the school are structured around a 'pathway' model, consisting of students from multiple year groups. Teachers have the opportunity to move across different pathways each school year.

Tempest are seeking an experienced teacher to start in September 2024. The ideal candidate will work with young people with complex learning needs, including Autism. Teachers are well-supported, working in small teams of professionals who share expertise and knowledge to ensure the success of both staff and students. The school also has a large team of in-house therapists and experienced Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

Experience working with young people with complex learning needs, including Autism.
Experience with TEACCH is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team of professionals.
