Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Salary - £30k-£40k (car allowance £4k-6k)

Location – Warrington

TXM Recruit is currently working with one of the largest property services contractors in the UK in search for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor, to assist with their painting and decorating projects within a social housing setting.

This Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor role will be based full time in their Warrington office, Monday to Friday. Occasional travel will be expected to carry out surveys for quotes & cyclical contracts.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor duties will include but not limited to –

* Preparing and measuring cost estimates for tenders and contracts

* Assisting with checking tenders and contracts highlighting risks

* Understanding Health and Safety

* Assisting in developing specific method statements

* Understanding cost base and production levels

* Develop and maintain several specialist subcontract and supplier contacts

* Ensure production targets are issued and contract CVR’s are set.

* Ensure contracts have targets at detail and summary levels, from operative to contract manager

* Monitor all ongoing contract costs against those detailed in the original tender.

* Record all variations, extras etc. and agree with the client.

* Ensure that financial reports accurately reflect the status of contracts in respect of progress, valuations, billings and collectable cash.

The ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor must have –

* Experience Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor or a similar role within the sector

* Experience working for a contractor

* Social Housing Experience

* Person with good organisation and communication skills

* Comfortable working in a team, and working towards targets

* Ambitious to progress
