SEN Science Teacher Required

COMPLEX NEEDS: Autism, Learning Difficulties, Social/Emotional/Mental Health, Communication, PTSD and Anxiety and additional needs.

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an SEN Science Teacher to join a "Ofsted GOOD" Alternative Provision in the Stockport/High Peak area, who specialise in supporting children and young people (key stage 3 & 4) with Autism, Learning Difficulties, Social/Emotional/Mental Health, Communication, PTSD and Anxiety and additional needs. The typical class size is between 6 - 10 and the students will be working at the national curriculum average (with adjustments needed for individual learning levels).

Daily Rate: Paid to scale

Location: Stockport/High Peak

Contract Type: Full Time, Temp-Perm

Start Date: September 2024

The successful applicants will have:

Previous experience working with secondary age students (key stage 3 & 4)
Ability to plan and deliver high quality, engaging lessons
Experience teaching and/or working with student with Special Education & Mental Health Needs
A thorough knowledge of the relevant curriculum areas up to KS4 and the ability to prepare pupils for public examinations
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students

The role will consist of:

Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (ideally Physics, Chemistry and Biology up to GCSE level)
Teaching to a class of varying needs including varied types of learning levels
Work closely with students, their parents/careers and other members of staff to make sure that the students are happy and learning well
Tracking student progress on a regular basis
Adapting the syllabus according to the individual students' EHCP
Make appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupil's progress
Focused on improving long term outcomes for studentsThe successful applicants will have:

QTS or equivalent and experience of working in UK schools (Teachers with relevant experience will also be considered).
Valid and Enhanced Child or Child and Adult DBS check registered on the update service (or willing to process a new one).TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
