SEN Teaching Assistant

Twenty4seven are looking to find an experienced SEN TA to work at a primary school in Rowley Regis. This school are seeking someone who will be able to work as a 1:2 with two pupils who have additional needs. The pupils who you will be assisting with are in Reception and you will be required to supervise them both together at the same time. One of the individuals is still in nappies meaning there will be an element of personal care expected for this role.

You MUST have had experience working in the EYFS setting and must be confident working with children who have autism.

SEN EXPEREINCE IS ESSENTIAL.

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

* Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes

* Supervise and support pupils in access of learning

* Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.

* Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.

* Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.

Desirable skills -

* A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)

* Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English

* Previous experience of working with young people

* Basic understanding of child development and learning

* Ability to use basic technology

* Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately

* Good interpersonal and communication skills

* Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

* Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher

These schools are all looking for people to start immediately. All roles are temporary for now but do have the potential to be permanent for the right person.
