Building Home Claims Adjuster - Remote

Our Client seeks an experienced Building Home Claims Adjuster to evaluate and validate claims of lower to moderate complexity, up to £10,000, using virtual technology. Job Overview:

You will join a dedicated and customer-oriented team, focused on achieving the best outcomes for our customers in alignment with consumer duty regulations.

Your responsibilities include effective cost management for all claims, ensuring control of expenses and indemnity within policy limits, accurate policy interpretation, understanding insurance principles, and maintaining adherence to our core standards and philosophies. The objective is to provide precise settlements while delivering outstanding customer service.

You will handle claims primarily related to escape of water, storm damage, accidental damage, fire, impact, and malicious damage. Your role involves conducting virtual assessments and creating schedules of work with advanced technology, offering customers cash settlements or the option to utilise our contractor network.

You will collaborate with a large team, working as part of an end-to-end system with a shared vision aligned with our Client’s strategy to achieve optimal outcomes for the business and customers.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- In-depth knowledge of home insurance policies and claims management within the insurance industry

- Familiarity with Financial Conduct Authority/Financial Ombudsman and Consumer Duty legislation and their impact on claims processing

- Understanding of underwriting risks, peril-related damages, policy interpretation, limits, and endorsements and their effect on settlement delivery

- Experience in identifying and managing vulnerable customers

- Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach

- Problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement

- Proficiency in health and safety regulations and relevant legislation, including asbestos regulations, with accurate handling

- Commitment to ongoing knowledge development, both technical and theoretical, through mentoring, courses, and independent learning

- Experience in creating schedules of work using defined schedules of rates

Qualifications:

- BDMA accreditation (preferred)

- Accreditation with CII, CIOB, CILA, RICS (preferred)
