Job Opportunity: Environmental Advisor
Location: Peterhead
Project: Eastern Green Link 2
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join an established team with a main civil engineering contractor who has recently been awarded a package of works on the Eastern Green Link 2 project in Peterhead. This is a £1.4bn project aiming to boost Scotland's renewable energy capacity and provide clean energy for two million homes in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide local advice on establishing and maintaining project-level EMS.
Review Project Execution Plans for compliance.
Attend and contribute to review meetings.
Mentor and coach project-based environmental staff.
Support environmental incident investigations and recommend actions.
Conduct internal compliance and vendor audits.
Guide managers on vendor evaluations.
Develop and deliver environmental training.
Maintain environmental databases.
Perform site environmental inspections.
Promote best practices and continuous improvement.
Review method statements.
Ensure adherence to company procedures and provide feedback.
Mandatory Requirements:
Understanding of environmental regulations and ISO14001.
Technical qualification or significant experience in Environmental Management.
Associate member of IEMA (or similar), working towards Full Membership or Chartered status.
Experience working within both co-located and remote teams.
Strong communication skills.
Understanding of digital construction.
Desirable Requirements:
Knowledge of the civil engineering industry.
Qualified environmental auditor.
Experience in training and mentoring.
Industry connections.
Commercial awareness.
Collaborative and supportive attitude.
Proficiency in IT applications.
