Chesterfield, United Kingdom Vet Finders Full time

Veterinary Surgeon. Chesterfield. £35k-£70k DOE

You didn’t become a vet to spend less time with patients, did you? But with production line consultations, increased paperwork, and targets creeping in, that’s how it feels.

You care deeply about your profession, want to be the best vet you can be, and marry up your beliefs with a practice that feels the same.

You are looking for a place that cares, where you own your cases, learn, add value, feel appreciated, spend quality time with patients, and see cases through.

Luckily there are still places like that, and this one is hiring.

Based near the pretty market town of Chesterfield this independent practice is hiring due to a vet moving to an ECC position after learning lots during her time at this clinic. With a reputation for value, the customer base is respectful and loyal with an understanding of what you do- no angry customers here moaning about price increases

You will join a caring team that has struck the right balance of ambition to improve and grow, build the team carefully, and not make profits their ultimate driver. This is a practice where everybody pulls together when there’s work and relaxes when it’s time. A strong team who wants the best for patient and practice.

Expect a varied caseload here with a good mix of consults and surgery, owning your cases, and seeing them through. Ideally, they are looking for two year plus experienced vets but it’s an empathetic, caring person they are most interested in. With 8 vets, ranging from 4 months to 29 years qualified and with all that knowledge you are not short of people to help and learn from.

Full Time or Part Time- the management embrace flexible working. Most of the vets work a four-day week with one early finish and a 1/5 OOH rota and weekends. You will be paid extra for each patient seen with a Monday off post-weekend work.

So, what’s in it for you? £35k-£70k per annum, plus generous OOH fees. VDS and RCVS paid for and professional memberships. Holidays: 25 days plus BH’s and a day off for your birthday. CPD is actively encouraged and so is further learning, with an extensive CPD budget covering that to certificate level. Not forgetting the fully paid fabulous Christmas party, more about that at interview

If you like the outdoors, The Peak District with its stately homes and historic castles, world-class heritage sites, distilleries, and outdoor adventures is only a short drive away. Or if it's restaurants, shopping, and modern facilities you are after Chesterfield is on your doorstep with Sheffield and Nottingham nearby.

So, what’s next?

Choosing a new practice is a big decision. You are looking to work with a caring team who have the right values, a place where you can develop, add value, and give back to the profession you love.

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up-to-date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Be a better more fulfilled vet
