Time Plan Education are working with a thriving Special school, with children aged 5 -11 years.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in the Secondary Autism Unit. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism, all of whom have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide personalised assistance, promote positive learning experiences, and facilitate the overall development of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities, adapting materials as necessary to suit the needs of students with EHCPs.
Implement behaviour management strategies and support students in developing social and communication skills.
Track and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to adjust support plans as needed.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with children with autism or in a similar special educational needs (SEN) setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Understanding of autism and strategies for supporting students with ASD, familiarity with EHCPs, and knowledge of safeguarding practices.Please submit an updated CV and we will be on contact
