Teaching Assistant

Salary: £84 - £100 per day

Start date: September 2024

A position has arisen in a brilliant school in Derbyshire, supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with Severe Learning Disabilities and Autism. The right candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of education and therefore improving the outcomes of young people. Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
Implement Individual Education Plans under the guidance of teachers.
Support the social and emotional development of students.
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
Prepare and organise learning materials and resources.
Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers.
Collaborate with professionals and external agencies to support student needs.Qualifications and Experience:

Hold a level 3 in supporting and learning or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting that we can reference in the last 2 years.
Able to support the class teacher with challenging behaviours (training will be provided).
Knowledge and understanding of SEND practice, Child Protection and Health and Safety.
Support with personal care where required.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.The school has a friendly team, creating a caring atmosphere around the school. The successful candidate will be fully supported and receive bespoke training.
