Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Care and Custody to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for an Care and Custody who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Care and Custody, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Care and Custody, will be responsible for:

* Allocating daily staff resources to activity within their Unit where appropriate

* Supervising and support staff and prisoners in all activities within the kitchen; including food preparation and delivery

* Creating menus, incorporating any special requirements and provide meal descriptions for prisoners

* Checking receipt of deliveries, stores and stock control

* Visiting residential areas to check on hygiene standards and food servery activity; offer guidance, carry out checks and support wing staff and servery workers

* Providing Food Safety, Health and Hygiene training

* Reporting equipment breakdown and records maintenance requirements

* Assisting the Catering Manager to produce meals for different events

* Undertaking all the duties of a Caterer as required.

* Delivering training to prisoners in Hospitality and Catering to cover both the establishment's needs and prisoners' aspirations to work towards gaining industry recognised accreditations.

* Participating in the selection process of prisoners for the area of work undertaking prisoner learning need assessments.

* Inducting prisoners to the area of work and train them in aspects such as health and safety, Control of Substance Hazardous to Health (COSHH), machinery and tools usage.

* Maintain and update learner records including their Individual Learning Plan accordingly.

* Assessing and evaluating skills of prisoners including National Vocational Qualification levels 1 and 2 and other relevant industry recognised qualifications.

* Undertaking the registration, supervision, monitoring, assessment and accreditation of learners in accordance with awarding body requirement.

* Maintaining awarding body quality standards and contribute towards internal and external verification as required.

* Seting learning aims and learning goals, review and provide feedback on prisoner.

To be successful for this Care and Custody role you must have:

* Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2-3 they are required be familiar with all current health, safety and hygiene related regulations for working in a kitchen environment.

* Strong and effective communication skills.

* Well organised with the ability to prioritise.

* IT skills.

* Experience in performing to KPIs and SLAs.

* Ability to pass Prison Service vetting.
