JOB TITLE: Scenic Carpenter

Travel to event site locations across the UK as required.
JOB TYPE: Permanent, full time
PRIMARY ROLE
As part of their continuing expansion, they have the opportunity for an enthusiastic Scenic Carpenter to join their team as they look to expand their Staging and Set department. The ideal candidate will have varied experience in scenic construction and a good understanding of live event production technologies. They will excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and thrive under pressure. Teamwork is a core value of their culture, with all parts of the business supporting and collaborating to achieve success together. Their people are the reason their clients have been returning year after year for more than two decades.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
On site scenic construction for events around the UK and beyond
Construction/preparation of stock and bespoke scenic items in our workshop and warehouse facility
Assistance with covering & preparation of set panels
Painting and finishing of scenic elements
Application of vinyl graphics
Carpeting / finishing of stages
Organisation of the workshop equipment and consumable items
Checking in of equipment returned from hire
Keep work areas clean and tidy
Assistance with stock asset management
Loading/unloading of vans and trucks as required
Assistance of other departments and other duties to meet the needs of the business
Comply with company health & safety procedures QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES OF THE CANDIDATE
Highly developed carpentry and finishing skills
Working knowledge of a full range of current scenic and exhibition construction methods, equipment, and practices would be an advantage
Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
Be highly organised and proactive, with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work as part of a team or unaccompanied under own initiative
Excellent time keeping
Ability to problem solve and to work to deadlines
High self-motivation and ability to lead by example.
Flexibility and a can do, customer focused attitude.
Keen eye for detail and high standards of presentation
Full UK Driving Licence and own transport TRAINING & PROGRESSION

WORKING HOURS
If you have the experience we are looking for then you will already know that this is not a 9 'til 5 job. Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Weekend work will be required. We try hard to manage a work life balance for our team.
HOLIDAYS
28 days per year
After 3 years continuous service you will receive your birthday off (day off can be taken within 7 days of your birthday)
After 5 years continuous service you will receive a further day's holiday PENSION SCHEME
