Electrical Maintenance Engineer with PLC

A well-established manufacturing company in Birmingham has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

Duties:

Carry out preventative and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance of all machines on-site.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Mechanical and electrical maintenance of production equipment, including injection moulding machines, tool room equipment, and ancillary machinery.

* Fault finding on PLCs, specifically Siemens S5 & S7, and Mitsubishi.

* Conduct root cause analysis to prevent equipment failures.

* Perform planned maintenance on all equipment, recording details in a maintenance software system.

* Coordinate with production to schedule downtime for repairs.

* Source and order new parts as needed.

* Respond to daily breakdowns, documenting details in a maintenance software system.

* Recommend and implement improvements to minimize downtime.

Skills and Knowledge:

* Safe operation of handheld and stationary power tools.

* Comfort working with sharp and heavy objects.

* Physical fit.

* Proficiency in using computers (Microsoft packages) and maintenance software.

* Ability to read and translate hydraulic and electrical drawings.

* Good time management skills and adaptability to changing priorities.

* Strong problem-solving abilities.

* Punctuality and good attendance.

* Ability to follow printed and digital instructions, as well as directions from supervisors or technical leads.

* Good written and oral communication skills.

* Attention to detail.

* Previous experience as a maintenance engineer.

Qualifications:

* Previous experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.

* Fully qualified maintenance engineer.

* 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate preferred.

Job Details:

* Full-time, Permanent

* Standard working week: 42.5 hours (9am – 6pm, Monday – Friday)

* Competitive salary based on experience
