Junior Quantity Surveyor
Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a well-established Building and Services Contractor based in the West Midlands & Shropshire. Main clientele includes local council authorities, housing associations and private commercial projects.
Due to growth, they are currently looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based out of their Albrighton office in East Shropshire.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures across the contract.
* Management of the established additional works processes to identify and capture items over and above the contract’s limit of liability.
* Providing commercial insights, driving profitable growth, and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s long-term goals.
* Providing support to the operations team with regards contractual commercial requirements, and any related commercial implications of non-performance.
* Preparation of contract variations and client finance model.
* Creation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk as well as leading contractual negotiations in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of contract models, e.g. Cost plus, fixed price, shared savings, GMP, etc.
* Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures.
* Computer literate including working knowledge of MS packages. Advanced knowledge of Excel, i.e. lookups, pivot tables & reporting.
* HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
* QS background in the Building Services Sector (desirable).
* Valid Drivers Licence & transport.
