Roles and responsibilities English Teacher/Teacher of English - Newham

The importance of educating and inspiring young people cannot be overstated
Developing engaging lessons is an important part of teaching
Keep the workplace safe by implementing the following measures
Participation of students is encouraged as part of the learning process
Assisting students with the completion of their tasks by supervising them
Assisting students in becoming independent learners
Assigning homework to students or setting up assignments About the School- English Teacher/Teacher of English - Newham

The school is located in Newham, a district with local transportation links to surrounding areas. The option of parking in a secure car park will be available to you if you are driving. A "GOOD" rating was given to this school by Ofsted in its last inspection. In this large five-form entry school, you will find a large staff that is committed to meeting each student's needs. It would be an excellent school for you to join for your induction year, if you are an English teacher with ECT as you have a very supportive SLT team.

Ability to engage students through excellent communication skills.
The ability to plan and design effective lessons using a variety of teaching methods.

Safeguarding the welfare of children is a priority.
The ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Classroom or a similar program.Qualifications needed for an English Teacher

5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English, Maths and Science.
(PGCE)
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
