Job Purpose
As a Resettlement Caseworker, you will provide intensive support and advice to families who have relocated to Flintshire as refugees. This role requires offering responsive, professional, user-centred support and collaborating with various agencies. You will be part of a team dedicated to achieving successful outcomes for service users in alignment with the Home Office, UK Government, and Welsh Government guidelines.
Principal Accountabilities
Service Delivery:
Manage a caseload of families, providing comprehensive support to address their mental, social, and financial wellbeing.
Prepare for new arrivals and make practical arrangements for their residence.
Refer families to appropriate service providers and support them in making contact.
Assist families with paperwork to access services and make applications and claims as needed.
Maintain accurate records of casework and monitoring data.
Stay updated on changes in service provision, client eligibility, and relevant legislation.
Support families with information and guidance to help them integrate into British society.
Provide drop-in support for clients no longer needing intensive assistance.
Resettlement Caseworker Knowledge and Experience:
Experience providing advice and support in Benefits, Housing, or Debt Advice to vulnerable people.
Ability to manage own caseload independently.
Excellent knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector services.
Understanding of services available and needs of families moving to the UK.
Experience managing a caseload in Benefits, Housing, or Financial Capability.
Knowledge of UK benefits system, housing regulations, and financial management.
Flexibility to work hours as required.
Resettlement Caseworker Specific Requirements:
Regular driving is involved; a full driving license and access to a vehicle are necessary.
An enhanced DBS check is required.
The Package
This is a temporary, Resettlement Caseworker role, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
