Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Talent Development Specialist on behalf of our client based in Stafford.
The Talent and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training and development programs that enhance employee skills and support organisational objectives.
This role includes managing early careers initiatives, such as apprenticeships and entry-level training, to ensure a robust pipeline of talent. Additionally, the specialist focuses on upskilling individuals across the organisation, ensuring that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to meet current and future business needs.
Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00am – 17:00pm – 37 hours per week| Hybrid working.
Salary: £33,526 per annum.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Working closely with the wider business, ensure that early career requirements are understood, and an appropriate learning provider is sourced. Monitoring the effectiveness of the provider and ensuring ongoing support to the learner during their apprenticeship.
• Support learner performance through ongoing monitoring, working closely with the provider, learner, line manager and the learning provider. Identifying and addressing issues that may arise during their employment as an apprentice.
• Working in conjunction with the Talent and Development Business Partner to ensure that appropriate job pathways are identified, and appropriate development interventions are in place to support group retention plans for those on the Groups early careers framework/ pathway.
• Oversee the utilisation of the apprenticeship levy to its potential
• Provide quarterly performance updates on early careers.
• Support outcomes from workforce planning discussions, specifically implementing, monitoring and updating personal development plans as part of the cyclical review process.
• Oversee the upskilling of our existing workforce using the apprenticeship levy or sponsorship route, ensuring that the development is meaningful.
• Lead on the design, implementation and evaluation of learning and development programmes that enhance the skills and capabilities of employees and leaders across the organisation.
• Lead on the development of our management fundamentals programme, ensuring it is fit for purpose, ensuring ongoing monitoring and evaluation of its performance.
• Responsible for the completion and monitoring of Equality Impact Assessments in the design of all training, talent, and development initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
• GCSE level education in Maths and English or equivalent through relevant training/experience.
• CIPD Level 5 in L&D or working towards, or an equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• 3 years’ work experience ideally in HR / T&D and the ability to consult with the internal and external customer.
• Ability to present information and promote talent and development to a wide-ranging audience including senior staff and management teams.
• Have facilitated learning needs analysis, talent matrix and gap analysis and consulting with people on talent and development requirements.
• Able to manage the workload of the role, delivering against deadlines, and prioritising to achieve outcomes.
