Key Objectives and Expectations:
Compliance Management: Utilise expertise in Product Compliance processes, chemicals, and materials to manage compliance tasks. This includes ensuring adherence to chemical legislation, particularly for our clients' portfolio of nicotine and beyond products, like e-liquids and oral pouches.
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of SDSs, ensuring they comply with global regulations throughout the product life cycle. This is essential for safe handling, transportation, use, and storage of products.
Process Improvement: Drive and implement process improvements within the Product Compliance team. Embed best practices into the team's daily operations, enhancing efficiency and compliance.
Regulatory Expertise: Provide technical support to various teams by offering expertise on chemical and SDS-related matters, ensuring our clients' products meet regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, such as Product Development, Quality, and Marketing, to collect necessary data for SDS creation and ensure regulatory compliance.
Leadership and Training: Guide and train team members in assessment processes, SOPs, and best practices. Also, manage the workload of 2-3 SDS authors to meet timelines and project goals.

Strategic Advantage: The role directly impacts our clients ability to innovate and compete in a regulated market by ensuring that product compliance is thoroughly managed and communicated through accurate and legally compliant SDSs.
Safety and Legal Compliance: SDSs are crucial for communicating hazard information and ensuring legal compliance, thus safeguarding our clients supply chain and ensuring products meet global safety standards.
Product Portfolio Compliance: The role is central to ensuring that the chemical and substance compliance content of our clients' product portfolio is accurate and up-to-date, supporting the company's commitment to safety and regulatory adherence.
Accountabilities:
Manage and deliver chemical compliance and SDS management, ensuring alignment with business standards and legal requirements.
Collect and coordinate necessary data for SDS creation and revision, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Plan and execute SDS authoring activities, ensuring timely delivery.
Review and validate SDSs, including classification codes and ingredient lists for labeling.
Distribute and track SDSs across the supply chain, ensuring all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information.
Provide technical support and expertise on chemical compliance to various internal teams.
Train and mentor team members, ensuring adherence to SOPs and best practices.
Maintain confidentiality of supplier information to secure cooperation and trust.
Essential Experience and Skills:
Educational Background: A strong academic foundation in a relevant chemical discipline (MSc preferred).
Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of global chemical regulations and the GHS framework.
SDS Expertise: Proven experience in SDS creation, preferably with knowledge of VERISK 3E platform.
Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities and attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem-Solving: Ability to manage ambiguity and tight deadlines effectively.
Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to influence and manage upwards.
Beneficial Qualifications:
Experience in regulated chemical or product compliance.
Professional membership in a chemical or EH&S institution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with document management platforms.
This position is initially for 6 months with a possibility of extension.
Pay:
£17.16 per hour (PAYE)
£23.10 per hour (Umbrella)
