Company Description:

A thriving manufacturer is looking to recruit a Project Design Engineer to support with design and development activities and assist a small junior team of design technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business, and the role provides the opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks including both desk-based project development activities but also hands on activities within the production facility to support design and development work for New Product Development and existing design improvements.

Responsibilities as a Project Design Engineer:

* Manage technical aspects of projects to ensure customer & legal requirements are met to include on-site support during project design phases.

* Prepare technical documentation including Bills of Materials (BOM’s), Design Reviews & Technical Proposals.

* Approve drawings and technical reports prior to release.

* Co-Ordinate the production of samples, part and material tests to ensure customer requirements are met.

* Develop a product database and keep updated all times.

* Support a small team of Junior design technicians.

* Identify & implement continuous improvements for manufacturing.

Skills and Experience as a Project Design Engineer:

* Experience with CAD 2D and 3D - CATIA V5 preferred but conversion training can be provided.

* Experience in producing technical documents such BOM’s & Technical Proposals

* Understanding of mechanical assembly

* Able and prepared to travel UK and Overseas when required.
