We are looking for an Application Engineering Specialist to join an instrumentation supplier in the metals industry. The position will be based in Crawley, West Sussex.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday and is office-based. The salary for this role is £38,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.

The main responsibilities include providing technical application support for calibration modifications to existing products to help the team meet sales targets. The Application Engineer will work closely with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, helping to identify and provide reliable solutions for technical issues throughout the sales process. Building and maintaining strong relationships throughout the sales cycle is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain expert-level production knowledge and application

- Design, develop, and implement calibration programs to meet recognized industry specifications

- Conduct evaluations for the release of new products

- Plan and manage engineering calibration projects

- Provide technical support in-house and off-site to customers and distributors

- Ensure safe and efficient work practices at all times, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures

- Handle customer samples

- Conduct operational training for customers, engineers, and distributors

- Create applications and sales training materials

- Provide support to other areas of the business as directed by senior managers when needed
