💰 Daily Rate: £800 - £950 (inside IR35 via umbrella)

📆 Contract Length: 6 months

🌍 Location: Central London (5 minutes walk from St. Paul's train station) - Hybrid working

🌐 About our client's Electronic Trading Technology (ETT) team 🌐

The ETT team supports the Electronic Trading business in the Global Markets and Investment Banking Group. They are a global team with a strong presence in every region (AMRS, EMEA, and APR), aiming to maintain a global perspective while responding to specific regional requirements. The EMEA team is a vibrant group of experienced developers, business analysts, and QA experts working closely with the business group. They support existing Electronic Trading products and are actively rolling out the next generation Electronic Trading platform.

🔥 Role Responsibilities: 🔥

✅ Delivering key functional changes to the ETT strategy engines

✅ Implementing core framework-level changes

✅ Collaborating with quantitative trading group/traders to capture core requirements

✅ Involvement in the entire development lifecycle (requirements gathering, coding, unit testing, patch reviewing, 2nd level support, etc.)

🎓 Qualifications & Skills 🎓

⭐ University degree in a technical or numerical field (e.g., computer science, electronic engineering, computational finance)

⭐ In-depth understanding of core Java APIs (collections, concurrency, NIO, etc.)

⭐ Proficient in multithreaded systems and experience with low latency I/O

⭐ Familiarity with design patterns (Observer, Factory, Singleton, etc.)

⭐ Development practises: test-driven development, UML, OO design, Eclipse/IntelliJ, GIT, continuous build servers, Maven/Gradle

⭐ Strong team player with the ability to mentor junior members and take technical direction

⭐ Experience with a multi-faceted role involving development, testing, support, and analysis

🌟 Desired Skills 🌟

🔹 Understanding of benchmark algo and/or smart routing strategies (VWAP, TWAP, Arrival Price, etc.)

🔹 Experience working with agile methodologies

🔹 Demonstrable knowledge of front-office system design and architecture (algo trading plant and topology)

🔹 Business Knowledge: Equities and/or derivatives markets understanding

🔹 Knowledge of FIX protocol (heartbeating, login, sequence numbers, message types, etc.)
