Job Advertisement: SEMH Teaching Assistant (KS2)

We are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants (Learning Support Assistants) to join our dynamic team, providing essential support in Key Stage 2 (KS2) to cover staff absence. This is a full-time role, and candidates must have experience in working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly managing challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Assist the class teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for pupils.
Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support pupils in distress.
Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.Essential Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with SEMH and managing challenging behaviour.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:20 am to 3:20 pm.
Ability to attend INSET training every Tuesday until 5:30 pm (essential).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.Hours:

Monday to Friday: 8:20 am - 3:20 pm
Tuesdays until 5:30 pm for staff training (INSET).If you have a passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs and can commit to the required hours, we would love to hear from you.
