SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistants

Kirklees

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with SEN and SEMH students to provide tailored support, guidance, and encouragement to ensure they reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
Support students with emotional regulation, social skills development, and conflict resolution.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and other relevant staff members.
Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN and SEMH education.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with students with SEN or SEMH needs is highly desirable.
A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
Ability to work 5 days a week.
