QC Lab Technician – Greater Manchester – Permanent - £17.21 – 36 Hours p/w – Chemicals

My client is a leading chemical manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. They are seeking a QC Lab Technician to join their Friday to Sunday team to maintain the highest level of quality of goods that are entering and leaving the company site. Working hours will be 6am-6pm

Day to Day:

* Ensure timely completion of product testing (in-process and final analysis/specifications)

* Prepare pre-shipment samples and ensure accurate documentation.

* Test incoming materials as required.

* Conduct project/development work as assigned.

* Follow procedures for test equipment calibration schedules.

* Provide test method training for operators and other deputies.

* Issue accurate process adjustment instructions to production.

* Complete inspection and test procedures as specified in manufacturing instructions and complete related quality documents promptly.

* Identify non-conforming materials or processes, arrange re-processing, usage under concession, or safe disposal, and complete corresponding quality records.

* Inform Senior QC Chemist or QC Lab Manager of any abnormal situations immediately.

* Authorize changes in product specifications, formulas, and manufacturing instructions (in the absence of Works QC Chemist)

* Liaise with Senior QC Chemist, QC Lab Manager, and/or Managing Director on technical matters and concessions.

* Respond to non-conformance corrective and preventive actions (customer complaints, process failures) promptly and report to Senior QC Chemist or QC Lab Manager

* Immediately report any incidents needing management attention using the appropriate reporting systems

* Ensure all duties/activities within the quality control department comply with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality management systems.

Experience needed:

* BTEC / HNC in Chemistry (or equivalent Level 4 qualification in chemistry)

* Follow chemistry testing techniques.

* Experience working in a busy industrial lab.

* Experience working in a chemical/process type industry (COMAH experience would be ideal)
