Job Title: Children's Home Manager - Learning Disabilities
Location: Near Kidderminster
Salary: £57,000 per annum
Are you a passionate, dedicated individual with experience in managing children's homes and supporting young people with learning disabilities? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Children's Home Manager.
You will need to:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are maintained.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Supervise and support a team of dedicated care staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities as required.
Oversee the recruitment and selection of new staff members, ensuring that the team is adequately resourced and skilled to meet the needs of the children.
Build positive relationships with children, their families, and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative approach to care and support.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation as necessary.
Manage budgets and resources effectively, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures where appropriate.
Act as a role model and advocate for the rights and interests of children with learning disabilities, promoting their inclusion and participation in decision-making processes.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a managerial role within a children's home setting, ideally with a focus on supporting young people with learning disabilities.
A relevant professional qualification in social care, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Services).
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve excellence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines relating to children's residential care.
A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, and safeguarding the welfare and rights of children.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the role and the children in our care.
