Simply Education are seeking an experienced Assistant HeadTeacher to join as a temp on an established team for a fixed term contract at an alternative provision in Preston. This position will entail working 5 days a week leading and teaching KS3 and KS4 students with various subjects and further studies. This setting supports pupils with ADHD and ASD.

About the school:

The school has small class sizes with no more than 8 pupils in a class and the pupils are provided with two pathways including a GCSE route or functional skills route. Additionally, the School also offer vocational qualifications via the Personal Development Programme. The setting caters for students ages 9-16 who have an EHCP in place, therefore their approach to learning is child centered with a focus on ensuring all students are prepared with a mix of qualifications and life skills. Students in this setting have communication and behavioural challenges associated with Autism.

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Headteacher:

- Supporting the Executive Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher
- Teaching KS3 and KS4 students alongside planning and delivering lessons
- Communicating the School's vision and supporting strategic leadership
- Daily management of the School in line policies for achieving main objectives
- Managing the team upholding a culture of staff professionalism
- Upholding educational standards to enable preparation for the students to move onto their next phase of education and life
- Encourage high standards of behaviour from students adhering to School policies and rules and routines that are understood by staff and students and clearly demonstrated by all staff

Requirements for the role:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Line management experience
- Leadership and management experience in a Secondary School
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs
