The Opportunity
An incredible opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a highly dynamic team of chemical specialists based at our client’s site in Staffordshire. The site is undergoing investment for the future including equipment and infrastructure. 

The role
As a Maintenance Technician, your role will involve working as part of a small multi-skilled team. Your Day-to-day tasks can vary greatly based priorities and require working closely with the maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams. 

The role will also involve interaction with specialised external contractors with the overall aim of allowing production to operate safely and efficiently.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
The main purpose of the role is to provide maintenance support to ensure ongoing plant safety integrity, reliability, and operability.
Provide maintenance breakdown troubleshooting and repair of diverse mechanical or electrical systems including process equipment for example pumps, valves, heaters, mixers, control systems, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
Carry out routine planned maintenance inspections and testing to ensure safe reliable operation of the processes and infrastructure on site.
Follow safe working practices and actively participate in plant handover and permit to work processes.
Accurately document work activities and utilise computerised systems including SAP participate in root cause analysis on plant failures for the purposes of improving reliability.
Work collaboratively with specialist external contractors, the maintenance and whole site team.
The role is days based Monday to Friday with an on call rota out of hours.Your Benefits

Demonstrable commitment to maintaining high safety, health & environmental standards.
A recognised electrical or mechanical qualification at level 3 or above.
Have the ability to work as part of a team to solve problems contributing your knowledge and valuing the knowledge of others.
Good written and verbal communicator, able to demonstrate an eye for detail.
Competence in basic IT skills such as email, web applications or other IT systems.
Commitment to ongoing training & development.
Able to demonstrate initiative, and a willingness to ask questions.It's great if you also have the following
Knowledge of chemical, process, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ability to repair and fault find chemical process equipment.
Working with electronic maintenance management systems.
Knowledge of DSEAR and experience of maintenance under these regulations.
Knowledge of steam generation and distribution systems, pressure systems and the associated safety controls.
Knowledge of instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, level etc.Get in touch now
