Concept Resources are proud to be working with an Environmental Insurance firm who are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Asbestos Sampling and Surveying Manager to oversee all aspects of asbestos sampling and surveying operations. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for surveyors, manage on-site issues, investigate complaints, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and provide comprehensive training. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a thorough understanding of asbestos management protocols.
Key Duties:
* Initial point of contact for surveyors, providing guidance and support.
* Assign on-site issues to the appropriate file handler and oversee the resolution process.
* Investigate sampling and surveying complaints, responding to complex sampling queries effectively.
* Create and manage projects on Alpha Tracker for upcoming survey visits.
* Develop sample POW's for each project.
* Compile and complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for survey visits.
* Sign off and produce final survey reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Conduct regular reviews of sampling and surveying procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Perform random desktop and site audits to ensure quality control and adherence to protocols.
* Provide training for all samplers and surveyors to maintain high standards of practice.
* Organise and facilitate classroom and online training sessions for Asbestos Awareness and Bulk Sampling.
* Attend health and safety meetings, contributing to discussions and decision making processes.
* Oversee the ordering and management of sample kits to ensure all surveyors are adequately equipped.
* Evaluate and update online course content to ensure it remains current and relevant.
* Perform asbestos surveys (Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition) in various property types including residential, commercial, and industrial.
Person Specification
* Proven experience in asbestos sampling and surveying management.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations related to asbestos management.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using Alpha Tracker or similar project management software.
* Ability to handle complex queries and complaints effectively.
* Experience in training and development of staff.
* Competency in conducting audits and reviews. • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Education and Certifications:
* P402 Essential
* W504 Desirable
* Relevant qualifications in asbestos management or related field.
