Our client is looking for an Azure Operations Engineer to become a key asset within their Business Systems department. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of their Azure cloud infrastructure, recommending and supporting improvement projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of their cloud environment.
The team is small and close-knit, composed of a diverse group of professionals. They provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support for network and IT services, and oversee the implementation of IT projects and data engineering services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Collaborate with external partners on the implementation of cloud-based solutions, ensuring they meet the organisation’s needs.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the Azure environment.
* Recommend and support improvement projects aimed at optimising cloud infrastructure.
* Manage the helpdesk service level agreements (SLA) to ensure prompt and effective issue resolution.
* Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies to ensure the infrastructure remains current.
* Provide training and development to the team to enhance their understanding of Azure and cloud management.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Microsoft AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals certification.
* Strong knowledge of Azure cloud technologies and systems.
* At least 1-2 years of experience in administering and managing cloud-based networks.
* Hands-on experience with SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive administration, and troubleshooting.
* Experience with VM configuration and deployment within Azure.
* Proficiency in managing organisational file storage using Azure Files.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with advanced Microsoft Azure cloud services.
* Experience with ITIL implementation.
* Experience with Intune laptop deployment.
* Physical network management experience.
* Line management or team leadership experience.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A team player who can also work independently.
* Proactive and eager to learn and grow in the field of cloud management.
* Well-presented with excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrates strong customer service and a professional telephone manner.
