Simply Education is currently working with a SEND school in Scunthorpe to recruit a Personal Care Assistant. You will be required to provide support and guidance to the students with their learning needs and assistance of their personal care, feeding and have the ability to lift manually and with any hoist equipment provided. Training can be given.

The successful candidates will support vulnerable students with a range of different needs and disabilities, this role is rewarding however each day is different so you must be adaptable and have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Key responsibilities:
• To maintain and develop high standards of person care and daily washing under direction of the management team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
• To assist with the supervision and feeding of students, including those with individual feeding programmes
• To ensure all necessary resources are supplied for students personal care
• Building Positive Relationships: Establishing trusting and positive relationships with students is essential.

The ideal candidate:
• Previous experience of working with young people with a range of disabilities
• To be able to lift manually and with any hoist equipment providied
• Relevant qualifications in education and special needs support/personal care
• To be able to maintain records and work to deadlines
