I am looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work in the Derbyshire area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.

Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Derbyshire

Contract: Freelance

Rate: £400-£430 per day- PAYE

When: ASAP

Duties will include:

To work as directed by the Managing Q.S and Quantity Surveyor assisting with the control of costs, maximising value
Ensure direct labour payments are monitored
Accurately report withheld, disputed or disallowed costs
Monitor insurance claims
Monitor & expedite payments
Ensure contract files and records are maintained
Ensure final accounts are prepared accurately
Ensure financial information for audits is collated
To correlate and abstract information from contract records to enable valuation
To assist in preparation of progress application

Skills Required:

Working/studying towards a formal qualification in quantity surveying
Possess a basic understanding of contractual, financial & quantity surveying skills.
Strong as an Assist Quantity Surveyor
Understanding of NEC Contracts

Skills Desirable:

A knowledge of water/wastewater industry
Experience within a construction background would be advantageous.
Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with colleagues whose work will be impacted by your activities.
