The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our client's commercial management process. Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Department, you will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure precise cost estimation, effective contract management, and efficient project delivery.
Your Duties & Responsibilities
Cost Estimation:
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for projects.
Analyse project plans and specifications to determine material, labour, and equipment costsContract Management:
Support in drafting and reviewing contracts and subcontracts.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.Budget Management:
Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
Identify and report any cost variances or budget overruns.
Measurement and Valuation:
Measure and value the work done on-site.
Prepare and submit periodic valuations and final accounts.Tendering:
Assist in the preparation of tender documents.
Evaluate and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers.Cost Control:
Implement cost control procedures and monitor ongoing project costs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend solutions.Financial Reporting:
Prepare regular financial reports for the Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager.
Provide accurate and timely financial data to support decision-making.Site Visits:
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Liaise with site managers and project teams to address any issues.Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
Monitor and report on risk factors affecting project costs.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all project-related documents.
Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions and project changes.Client Liaison:
Assist in managing client relationships and addressing their concerns.
Provide updates and reports to clients as required.
The Pay
Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience
£25,000 to £32,000 PA
