Role overview
As a Teacher of Sociology you will have the exciting opportunity to ignite students' passion for understanding society, culture, and human behaviour. You will deliver dynamic and engaging lessons that challenge students to think critically about the world around them, preparing them for academic success and informed citizenship.

Key responsibilities
• Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality sociology lessons that captivate students and stimulate their intellectual curiosity.
• Develop Curriculum: Create and implement a comprehensive and challenging sociology curriculum that aligns with national standards and the school's educational goals.
• Foster Engagement: Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate and express their ideas.
• Assess Progress: Monitor and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Extracurricular Activities: Lead and participate in exciting extracurricular activities such as sociology clubs, debates, and educational trips that enhance the learning experience.
• Collaborate: Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, contribute to departmental initiatives, and support the continuous improvement of the sociology program.
• Supportive Environment: Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Desired experience
• Experience: Proven experience teaching sociology at the secondary school level.
• Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of the sociology curriculum and contemporary educational practices.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Inspirational Teaching: Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
• Inclusive Teaching: Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Experience in organising and leading extracurricular activities is highly desirable.
• Commitment: Promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Team Player: Has great communication and wants to work in a fun and friendly team.
