Summary:

To prepare and cook food to agreed schedules of work for staff, visitors and members of the public as well as preparing special diets when requested.

Role: Diet Chef

Rate: £11.45 per hour

Location: William Harvey Hospital, Kennington Rd, Willesborough, Ashford, TN24 0LZ

Job Type: Part Time, Contractual Role, Initially for 6 months with the possibility of extension

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 18:00

Start: As soon as complete the documentation

Essential Qualification:

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Minimum).
NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Food production or equivalent.
Good communication skills, including the ability to instruct other staff.
Strong customer care skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Understanding of allergens.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare dishes following agreed menus and recipes for retail, functions, and patient feeding operations.
Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to internal and external customers, ensuring high standards of customer service and maximizing retail sales.
Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards, adhering to Health and Safety and Quality protocols.
Monitor and maintain food presentation standards in the retail operation.
Participate as a full member of the team, supporting and training other staff, participating in team meetings, and covering other team members as needed.
Contribute to menu planning and service development within the catering department.
Store goods correctly, minimize food wastage, and maintain portion control.
Use and maintain kitchen equipment properly, reporting any faults immediately.
Undertake ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager and within the scope of skill and capability.
Supervise and mentor other staff as required for their development and the effective running of the retail kitchen.
Liaise with onsite Dieticians to enhance service delivery.Benefits:
