SEN Teaching Assistant

Must have TA level 2/childcare level 2 qualification

Location: Oldbury
Daily Rate: £85 - £95
Employment: Long term to permanent Monday to Friday (8.30am – 3.30pm)

GSL Education are currently supporting a school in Oldbury looking for experienced special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistants who will be involved in working 1:1 and with small groups of children with PMLD, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements.
Managing and implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour.
Acting as a positive role model and providing nurture support.
Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom.
Ensuring you read about the child’s requirements.
Caring for the welfare of pupils, including toileting and feeding as required.
Assisting pupils with dressing/changing for activities/personal hygiene.
Requirements:

High standards of written and spoken English.
NVQ Level 2 Childcare, Learning and Development or equivalent qualification.
Willingness to undertake all training necessary to perform the role.

Previous experience working with children with complex and profound learning difficulties.
Personal care is a must.
