We are working alongside a National Leading M&E Contractor who are seeking an experienced Regional H&S Advisor to join their team across the North. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company who are turning over circa £100m across their Northern Regions with an established team of industry professionals.

It is the duty of the Regional Health and Safety Advisor to oversee all aspects of the Regional Health and Safety management, and to provide advice on all Health & Safety-related matters. They will be the primary contact in relation to the Health & Safety topics.

The Regional H&S Advisor will ensure that they have the relevant competency to advise and assist project and office teams with both legislative and procedural requirements.

The Advisor will be responsible for reporting into the Regional Managing Director and the Group Health & Safety Director.

The Regional H&S Advisor will ensure that they:

* Know the requirements of the relevant Legislation as they relate to the sector of the organisation, provide practical, pragmatic advice to assure compliance, and ensure that safe working practices are established for Company activities.

* Promote and maintain on-going determination to improve its performance in Health, Safety and Welfare.

* To proactively operate the Health & Safety Policy and management system for the prevention of harm.

* Discuss with the Managing Director(s), and others in the management structure, methods of preventing harm to any persons connected with operations, and possible improvements in existing working methods that effect Health & Safety.

* When notified of projects ensure the relevant documentation has been prepared by the project manager and that it meets its Legal requirements under Health & Safety Legislation.

* Ensure that prospective sub-contractors are vetted, ensuring they have adequate Health & Safety Management systems and resources, and to ensure sub-contractors adhere to all the relevant Health & Safety requirements.

* Ensure Project Health & Safety inspections are undertaken on a regular basis. Ensuring that the findings of these or other inspections are communicated to the relevant parties for action where necessary.

* Encourage the reporting of all accidents and incidents no matter how minor, in line with Company procedures and Legal requirements. Use this information to analyse trends and make recommendations to the Regional Management Teams.

* Ensure that all employees receive adequate and appropriate Health & Safety training to enable them to carry out their work safely.

* Ensure that records are kept of all H&S documentation in a consistent and retrievable manner.
