What is Expected of a Machine Operative:

* Prepare materials for processing by cleaning, sanding, or applying primers to ensure proper adhesion and surface finish.

* Operate machinery to apply coatings, finishes, or paints to surfaces using various methods such as spray guns, brushes, or rollers, adhering to specifications and quality standards.

* Monitor production processes, including thickness, drying times, and temperatures, to ensure adherence to specifications.

* Inspect processed surfaces for defects, such as bubbles, runs, or uneven coverage, and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.

* Mix materials, including paints, varnishes, and sealants, according to formulation instructions and industry standards.

* Maintain machinery and tools, including cleaning, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

* Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

* Keep accurate records of production activities, including materials used, application methods, and quality control checks, for documentation and reporting purposes.

* Collaborate with other team members, such as production supervisors, quality control inspectors, and engineers, to coordinate processes and troubleshoot issues.

* Stay updated on advancements in machinery technology, materials, and application techniques through training and professional development opportunities.

* Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders to coordinate work schedules, address concerns, and ensure that production targets are met.

Holiday Pay as a Machine Operative:

You will accrue 5.6 weeks of paid holiday during each complete holiday year based on a 5-day working week. This entitlement incorporates your statutory entitlement. Part-time employees will receive a pro-rata entitlement. If your employment commences or terminates part way through a holiday year, your entitlement will be calculated as 1/260th of your annual entitlement for each day of service
