The opportunity
Due to continuous project expansion, our client are currently seeking an experienced Subcontracts Manager to join a leading engineering and maintenance provider, where you will be a part of an already established team running a portfolio of projects within the Gas division. You will have the opportunity to work directly with subcontractors remotely, on site and within the office, ensuring that all work is completed to expected levels of quality, on time and to cost. You will also have the chance to further develop and support the current supply chain strategy to ensure access to the strongest network of subcontractors.
The role
As a Subcontracts Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring subcontractor progress and their performance throughout the project, raising any concerns and mitigating any risks to deadlines/cost schedules.
This is a permanent role based predominately in the office at Warrington, however, you will be required to travel to client sites on a regular basis
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* You will also be effective in change management, preventing deviation from the original scope and managing any change requests which may arise. Driving internal and external teams (including sub-contractor management) to complete tasks within the acceptance criteria.
* You will ensure Health & Safety requirements are flowed-down and managed in conjunction with the wider SHEQ team. Additionally, you will have good commercial acumen, managing technical, cost, schedule and contract baselines.
* You will regularly review progress and approve risk management recommendations, ensuring the impact of risks is eliminated or significantly mitigated.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* Proven track record in delivering projects with Sub Contractor / Supplier Network.
* Authored detailed Request for Quotations for contractual scope of supply on Automation projects.
* Establish and manage the cost, schedule, technical baselines, quality and performance of sub-contractors and suppliers.
* Strong technical experience in Automation and Controls.
* Able to demonstrate experience in Subcontract Management on major Projects.
* Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques and the commercial aspects of projects.
* Able to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively.
* Full, clean UK driving license.
* NEC contractual awareness and implementation.
