Goodenough College is an educational charity, providing accommodation to international postgraduate students (we call them Members) and their families in a friendly and collegiate setting across a picturesque London Square. The College offers a variety of accommodation options from shared single rooms, ensuite rooms and family flats, alongside grand halls, libraries, and common rooms.
The College is recruiting a Fabric Technician.
Main responsibilities
* Maintaining the fabric of the College buildings and performing day-to-day planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and small projects.
* Tasks will include joinery, building maintenance, small installations (e.g., kitchens), wet trades, tiling/sealing, hard landscaping, painting, and more.
* Ensuring good health and safety practices, working safely, and .
Person Specifications
* A relevant trade or craft qualification in a building-related discipline.
* Experience in performing general building repairs and maintenance operations to a high standard.
* Experience carrying out building maintenance operations in commercial workspaces and customer-facing environments.
* Good technical and problem-solving skills are essential.
* Experience using a wide range of power tools, hand tools, and equipment across various activities is required.
* A high level of productivity, a good pace, and a strong work ethic are essential.
* The role requires physical fitness and agility, as it involves manual handling and working at height across a multi-building estate with limited access to lifts.
