Acorn by Synergie is working with a well known Wholesale Foods and Drinks company based in Chepstow who are looking for a Transport Team Manager to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for for the day-to-day operations and compliance of the department whilst ensuring employees are motivated, working safely towards a common goal and maximising productivity.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Full understanding of Transport legislation.

* Good level of verbal and written English and numeracy skills.

* Proficient in IT and ability to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.

* Evidence of effective management experience.

* Effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Promote and manage all QHSE, Fleet and Sustainability standards, focussing on team safety and wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies. This includes PPE, Vehicle checks, CV servicing and MOT's, VOR's, Contractor, hygiene, temperature checks, pest control, accidents and near misses.

* Plan workload for themselves and others effectively.

* Manage all resources including commercial vehicles, cages, pallets and sack barrows.

* Identify and recommend improvements to the department manager.

* Follow site safety regulations

* Accurately update relevant systems in a timely manner. This will include overtime management, accurate completion of payroll submissions and accident investigation documentation.

* Full compliance and completion of induction and probationary process for all new recruits.

* Ensure Customer stock is handled correctly to reduce damage and ensure cost and customer availability KPI's are met.
