Job Description for Depot Manager

You will be working for a family run business with their Head Office in Princes Risborough and second depot in Wakefield. They run a fleet of over 700 specialist flooring machines for all aspects of surface preparation, including diamond grinding and polished concrete. In addition, they cover machinery for removal, levelling, sanding along with full dust extraction; servicing customers throughout Mainland UK.

They are looking for a new member of staff to join their team as a Depot Manager. The successful candidate will support all departments to ensure the smooth running of the business. As members of the HAE and SafeHire accredited, all policies and procedures must be adhered to, to ensure the safety of staff and customers.

They are looking for someone who has proven experience as a Depot Manager within the Hire Industry, who is used to working to tight deadlines and the high pressure demands of the industry.

They are a busy team, and the role requires the right person to have a varied skill set as well as the ability to think for themselves. The company pride themselves on their level of customer service and company professionalism, therefore expect every member of staff to work in the same way.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

· Overall smooth running of the day-to-day of both depots.

· Sales Support - Liaising with Workshop Manager & Directors to ensure all orders are fulfilled.

· Stock control - Purchase orders for machine parts, consumables & office stationary etc.

· Logistics - Ensuring all drivers have correct paperwork. Responsible for Daily Check Off sheets. FORS Accreditation requirements. Vehicle servicing and MOT.

· Health & Safety - Ensuring all Risk Assessments & Policies are up to date and maintained.

· Facilities - Fire Extinguishers, Waste Disposal, General Maintenance & Utilities etc.

· Troubleshooting - Ensuring any customer issues are dealt with quickly and successfully whilst liaising with all necessary departments.

Experience Required:-

· Previous experience as a Depot Manager within the Hire Industry

· Previous experience maintaining & updating Risk Assessments, Records & Policies

· Ability to work quickly and methodically

· Be willing to learn & be reliable

· Excellent telephone manner

· Strong computer skills & written and spoken English
