Role Description
I am seeking an experienced full-time, on-site Transport Planner to join our clients team in Southampton. This pivotal role involves the strategic planning and execution of our transportation operations, ensuring that all logistics processes run smoothly and efficiently. As a Transport Planner, you will be the backbone of our transport operations, coordinating with various departments and external partners to optimise our transportation network.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Planning: Develop and implement daily transportation plans that maximise efficiency and meet client requirements.
Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while managing resources effectively.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the transportation process.
Transport Modelling: Utilise transport modelling techniques to forecast demand, optimise routes, and improve overall operational efficiency.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during transportation, using your organisational and problem-solving skills to maintain service quality.
Compliance: Ensure that all transportation activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Experience: A proven track record in transportation planning and management, ideally within the logistics or transportation industry.
Operations Management: Strong experience in managing transport operations, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
