About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialisation in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our team in Edmonton, London. This full-time, long-term position will start ASAP and is a new addition to our team, aimed at enhancing support for students with ASD.

The role involves providing one-on-one support in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and manage classroom behavior.

As part of our inclusive and supportive school culture, you’ll benefit from a collaborative environment with respect for every individual’s needs and values of empathy and compassion. • Experience: Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential.

• Skills: Strong understanding of ASD and effective strategies for supporting students with this condition.

• Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs or autism is highly desirable.

• Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individual Support: Provide tailored support to students with ASD, helping them to engage with the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.

• Behaviour Management: Implement and adapt strategies to manage behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment.

• Collaborative Working: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

• Monitoring Progress: Observe and report on the academic and social development of students, ensuring progress is tracked and any necessary interventions are put in place.
