BEMS Commissioning Engineer

Purpose of role:

To commission, set to work and hand over BEMS projects of various sizes and types, ensuring that they operate efficiently, effectively, reliably and safely and are compliant with all specifications and design.

Key Responsibilities

Personal

· Comply with all internal processes & procedures. e.g. H&S, Service / visit reporting, timesheets, expenses.

Business Development

· Maintain frequent contact with clients to build and maintain relationships at all levels.

· Identify opportunities for additional services with existing customers, ensuring our clients are aware of all services and solutions we can offer.

Engineering

· Responsibility for handing over a fully operational system, for acceptance by the customer.

· Ensure operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning schedules, handover and witnessing documents are accurate and up to date, and ensure all paperwork is correctly filed on the server.

· Co-ordination of onsite H&S. Preparation and review of H&S documentation. Review and approval of sub-contractor on site H&S documentation.

· Carry out factory acceptance testing, demonstrations, witnessing and customer training.

· Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with the company’s H&S policies.

· Provide regular reporting of commissioning progress to project team.

· Review current processes and improve or implement new processes to improve quality, efficiency and profitability.

· Carry out site validations.

· Identify and communicate enhancements and improvements to technical standards.

Commercial

· General commercial awareness

· Assist with detailed post completion review of projects

Other duties as may be required consistent with the responsibilities of the post.

· Communication: Appropriate and timely telephone and email communication, internally and externally

· Timekeeping & Attendance: Exceptional timekeeping, good sickness record.

· Customer satisfaction: Client perception to quality and productivity. Internal customer relationships

· Engineering: Working effectively to deliver high quality work within planned timescales

Experience & Qualifications Required

· Health & Safety awareness, particularly with construction sites.

· Good general BEMS knowledge and relevant industry experience.

· The ability to read mechanical and electrical installation drawings, MCC schematic wiring diagrams, and technical documents

· An in depth knowledge of general building services plant and systems.

· Fluent with Trend (or equivalent systems), able to write and commission controller software and graphics

· Familiarity with standard comms protocols e.g. BACnet, Modbus, LON and associated interfaces and gateways such as SIPS, TONN etc
