Welding Engineer

We are working with our client who are an established manufacturing company in Sunderland in their search for Welding Engineer. This role would be idea for someone with a background in materials and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure adherence to quality standards in the welding process.
* Oversee and participate in inspections at various production stages.
* Identify and address non-conformities in welding procedures.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inspection and auditing processes.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of welding processes and procedures.
* Assist in innovation, process development, and the implementation of standard operating procedures.
* Monitor and enhance welder performance, ensuring compliance with sequences and standard operating procedures.
* Control and mitigate distortion in welding processes.
* Interpret engineering drawings and international specifications.
* Inspect materials, welds, dimensions, and painting processes for quality assurance.
* Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements in welding.
* Provide training and development support to enhance the skills of the welding team.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
* Collaborate with suppliers and conduct inspections at supplier premises.
* Apply knowledge of welding management systems, such as ISO9001 and ISO3834.
* Familiarity with relevant materials used in welding
* Address quality-related issues in a methodical and logical manner.
* Communicate information clearly at all levels within the organization.
The Person:
* Knowledge of quality and welding management systems ISO9001 and ISO3834.
* Competence in welder monitoring, weld sequences/SOP, and distortion control.
* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and international specifications.
