Principal Engineer - Maintenance Design - Nuclear
Barrow in Furness OR Bristol offices (Hybrid working)
Salary: Negotiable

The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting a Principal Engineer - Support Engineering (maintenance design) to join one of the UK's leading defence engineering businesses, working on some of the most advanced nuclear projects to date.

Job Overview:

Supporting the Nuclear Submarine Engineering Design team with operational/maintenance expertise, advising on technical output.

Some of your duties will include:

Working as a Nuclear Mechanical SQEP support to the MTA team and wider Support Engineering teams
Checking technical accuracy of ILS outputs, specifically relating to nuclear
Providing ex-operator reviews of LORA, MTA & MTI deliverables which includes identifying Nuclear safety/containment interfaces
Identifying Specific operational conditions needed for the task to be conducted
Identifying Specific Base organisation skills needed for the task to be completed
Support Equipment requirements and applicability
Providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to the wider ILS floorplate
Supporting collaboration with other industry partners and act as facilitator for bespoke tasking

What do you need to succeed?

Essential:

A background in the nuclear industry in a Mechanical role
Time served Maintenance Engineer or engineering background in SubmarinesDesirable:

Ex-maintainer, operator, submariner
Cat B qualified
Experience as a Shutdown supervisor
