Skills and experience required

Significant experience in technical role within a food industry
Food Safety Certification
HACCP Level 3
Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor Certification
Understanding of general legal and customer requirements / standards within food production
Competent in the use of customer technical databases
Lead and team management experience
Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, Outlook)
Analytical and strategical thinking
Previous experience in technical role in fruit commodities preferred
Packaging Artwork approval process
Experience managing sustainability strategy

Key role responsibilities of the role

To provide technical knowledge and to ensure the implementation and compliance of the technical and quality functions across the business. FWM to comply with current legislation, industry standards and customers code of practices.
To manage the preparation for and when required manage/lead customer/marketing group technical/quality visits/ audits and Day-to-Day Technical relationship with Customer Technical Team.
To maintain Food Safety, Product Integrity, Quality Management System and Specifications.
To host external audits e.g. BRC and customer audits.
To manage the internal audit schedule to verify the compliance with and effectiveness of the HACCP Systems, Quality Management Systems and compliance with legal and customer codes of practices / requirements.
To lead and manage HACCP Team and develop HACCP Awareness in the business including internal training programme working with external expertise as required, management of TACCP.
To manage Company's microbiology and pesticide testing schedules.
To manage the Technical System Review activities for the business. To be a member of the product withdrawal/ recall committee in the event of a product recall.
To plan R&D projects and feedback the results to the management team.
To manage the technical system review activities for the business.
To work closely with Business Training Management and Senior Management to create Development and Training programmes at all levels within the business engaging Department managers.
To set Company objectives and key performance indicators together with Senior Management and regularly review and report results to the Business.
To manage and report overall service levels, customer complaints and rejections including root cause analysis and providing corrective action plan completion.
Overall responsibility of document control system for the business.
Managing supplier / contractor due diligence.
