Mechanical Design Engineer
Main Responsibilities
* The Mechanical design, detailing, documentation, and project oversight of Special Purpose Machinery.
Mechanical Design Engineer
Main Tasks
* Understanding & Working to customer specifications.
* The mechanical design of individual machine processing stations, tooling and overall machine designs including base fabrications, guarding systems, and trunking.
* Ensuring machines are designed to operate at the required cycle times to support the customers’ requirements.
* The detailing of individual piece parts to company standards.
* The creation of Machine Bills of Materials.
* Liaising with customers during the design phase and providing progress updates.
* Travelling when required to customer facilities to perform design reviews, perform site/process surveys and support equipment installations if required.
* Effectively communicate with all seniority levels within the business and counterparts of the parent company.
* Giving support and assistance where necessary to the machine building staff.
* Understand and work to the project timing and budget allocation.
* Carry out swift problem-solving resolution with decisive decision making on design and process related issues.
* Flexible in the approach to tasks with the ability to follow guidance from other team members.
