We are currently working with a world class specialist vehicle manufacturer who are developing a full range of EV Vehicles in the recruitment of a Principal Engineer - Exterior Trim. The main responsibilities of this role will be to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts / schemes. The Principal Engineer Exterior Trim will be able to demonstrate relevant engineering experience, gained from working on module area systems design & development, from concept to production

As Principal Engineer Exterior Trim you will be required to:

Support the Lead Engineer, Exterior Trim & Lighting in all day-to-day activities
Utilizing Catia to lead the development of the 3D models for exterior trim
Engineering BoM development. Cost / weight pack development. Weight BoM management
Design surface (CAS) feasibility 'FC' checks. Provide feasibility advice & guidance
Engineering hard-point generation
Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings
Interface with cross functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA etc) & implement recommendations where appropriate to create a right first-time release
Storing and releasing data into TCUA and PLM
As Principal Engineer Exterior Trim you will have:

A relevant engineering qualification with proven experience in the concept design of exterior trim using Catia
Proven experience in an automotive or motorsport applications as part of an OEM, Tier 1 or consultancy being able to use CAD (Catia)
Experience in complete vehicle development cycle experience for exterior trim
